Masculine to Feminine Makeup Victoria is a professional makeup artist who specialises in male to female makeup sessions and transgender makeup services. She is committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all members of the LGTBGQ community. Her studio is a place where everyone can feel comfortable, accepted, and respected. A makeup session usually takes about ninety minutes to an hour, Victoria can also do basic wig-styling. ​ Victoria supplies all the cosmetics needed, all you need to bring is yourself, an outfit and a wig if you wear one. If you feel more comfortable you may change into your feminine clothes before makeup, Victoria can also remove your makeup if required. Prepare for your Special Event Before your Trial-run Bring photos of hairstyles and makeup you like as it helps us to understand the look you are after. Wear clothing with a similar neckline as your wedding dress if possible, or a low, light coloured top. It is also important to wax or tweeze untidy eyebrows, chins, cheeks etc. before for the trial. Wash your hair the night before as this eliminates fly away or too soft hair and makes it more manageable. ​ It's fine to use Mousse or Hairspray but absolutely NO straightening serum, as it works as a coating and makes the hair inflexible. If you have product-buildup use a clarifying shampoo like SUKIN DEEP CLEANSE ​ It's often easier to buy your headpiece after the trial, you can buy one to suit the hairstyle rather than the other way around. ​ If you have any inquiries regarding colouring or conditioning treatments you can discuss these with Debbie or Victoria at your trial. On the day of your wedding or special event Be on time for your wedding day hair and make up appointment and have everyone ready to start at the appointed time. Working simultaneously, we allow an hour per person for hair and makeup. If you have say, 5 people then we need 5 hours. Photographers usually request you to be in the final touches of hair & Makeup when they arrive Be on time or even a little early for your wedding day hair and make up appointment and have everyone there,ready to start at the appointed time Don't drink to excess the night before and drink water, lots of it! Use a good sunscreen for face or moisturiser. For prep, wear something that opens at the front and does not need to be taken over the head so that the hair style does not get damaged.( discuss with your dressmaker whether you can step into your wedding dress as putting it over your head could result in displacing your hairstyle) Wash your hair the night before as this eliminates fly away or too soft hair and makes it more manageable. It is OK to use Mousse or Hairspray but absolutely NO straightening serum - please don't use straightening irons as it makes it hard to curl the hair If you have product-buildup use a clarifying shampoo like SUKIN DEEP CLEANSE. If your hair gets wet during your morning shower, please make sure it is thoroughly dry before we style it. If using fresh flowers it is advisable to have them arrive early so that the hairdresser can decorate the hair around them. ​ Victoria recommends that everyone should have a face peel a few day’s prior to the wedding, this removes dead skin cells and gives the makeup a lovely fresh appearance. This can be done at your local salon. Make sure your hands and nails look really nice as they will be a focal point throughout the day. ​ Dont forget to relax and enjoy!

Q&A Why is is necessary to have a Bridal trial-run? Several reasons, the most important is so you can feel confident you will look your absolute best for your special occasion. We also like to check for any reactions from cosmetics – although this is very rare. Your trial-run is a testing ground, we want you to be happy so always tell us what is on your mind, this way we can fine-tune everything so it is perfect. We also discuss number of people, time, price,venue & schedule etc. How soon before the wedding should I have my makeup trial? It’s best to have one as soon as possible as our diary gets booked up very quickly. Brides can book anything from two months to a year ahead -but an early trial-run is always advisable ​ Can I secure my wedding date before I have a trial? Yes, in order to secure your wedding in our diary it is necessary to pay a $100 booking fee. Many brides are booking ahead of their trial-run so they can relax and have a trial when it is convenient. ​ How do I prepare for the makeup trial? Any pictures or ideas you may have for your make-up. Swatches of fabric are also helpful to decide on makeup colours, or bring a photo. Hairstyles work best on hair that is washed from the day before, this allows the style to hold & last longer. Wear something white or cream if possible. ​ How should we prep our faces for the trial and for the wedding day? Exfoliate, wax, tweeze & moisturize a couple of days before, don’t do anything drastic or different to usual as you don’t want a break-out or have an allergic reaction. A nice clean face! Fake tans may be applied a couple of days before the trial. Where will the trial take place? At the Makeup Boudoir in Port Kennedy. ​ Will our makeup on the day be exactly the same as our trial makeup? Yes, most definitely, unless of course you have changed your mind about anything. Please let us know BEFORE your wedding day if you would like a different style or make-up look. How long will a bridal Hair & makeup trial take? It takes a couple of hours to do hair & makeup on one person. We recommend a trial for the bride is essential! On the wedding day how long would it take to do makeup for say, five ladies? If having false eyelashes I like to allow an hour per person, so five hours. We also allow an hour for hairstyling, who will be done by our wonderful stylist, Debbie. We are able to accommodate up to FOUR people comfortably in the Boudoir at Port Kennedy Can you copy looks from pictures? We can copy a make-up as closely as possible. I enjoy copying a make-up look, it will look slightly different because you have different features to the model, but your make-up will be very similar. Bear in mind that many pictures in magazines are re-touched beyond reality. ​ Are you qualified? Yes, Victoria is a qualified Makeup Artist through The Colour Cosmetica Academy & Debbie is a qualified Hairdresser at Senior level ​ What makeup brands do you use? I use high-end brands like MAC, Morphe, NARS, Chanel, Charlotte Tilbury, Maqpro, Colour Pop, Too Faced, etc., These products are pro quality and work well in flash photography without making you feel caked in makeup. They have outstanding durability to last all day & night. Are they suitable for sensitive skin? Yes, they are suitable for all skin-types, it is always wise to have a trial-run if you have problematic or sensitive skin. Are they suitable for Rosacea sufferers? Yes, this can be camouflaged very successfully, as can most skin problems. Do you use airbrush makeup? No, its not as good in MHO. Do you supply “touch up” products? Yes, Victoria provides bridal touch-up kits that can be purchased for $25 each ​ How do I keep my makeup fresh all day and night? Your make-up is applied & set using professional techniques & a setting spray that ensures it will last all day & night. We also use lipsticks & lip paints that will not come off until you remove them. ​ How do you deal with excess perspiration or tears on my face? I have a special primer that works like an anti-persperant on the face. Also take a tissue and blot area gently. This won’t disrupt your make-up. The same for tears! How do you deal with excessively flushed cheeks? Foundation & concealer will cover this, but it wont looked caked-on. Victoria has some excellent foundations that are very natural looking with good coverage. ​ Do you supply false Eyelashes? Yes, these are very popular as they really enhance your eye tremendously! I can supply you with lashes. I use high-strength glue so they will last until you peel them off! What steps do you take to prevent cross contamination? All the equipment in my kit is hygienically clean and brushes are sterilized. I use a product-to-palette-to-client technique that eliminates cross-contamination & I use hand sanitizer. Anyone with cold sores or styes will have makeup applied using disposable applicators. What will you do if someone has a cold sore or blemish on the day? These can be covered up using concealer, again with disposable tools. Please try using cold-sore gels to help calm the cold sore down. What makeup styles do you generally recommend for weddings? It’s a very personal choice, but I like to use neutrals on brides. The eyes and lips need to be accentuated more than normal as the camera takes about 30% of the detail away. Go with something you feel comfortable with, look like a better version of yourself. Dont forget to take your partners ideas into account! ​ How often will you be in contact with me before the wedding? Once you have secured your booking & had your trial, that is all we need to do until closer to the day. A few weeks before the day we can discuss arrival times and I calculate your final balance. This can be paid on the day (in cash) or in advance. You are very welcome to ask me any questions leading up to your wedding and I will advise where I can 🙂 What is your typical week like? Weekends are busy with weddings, party make-ups and business events. I also hold one-to-one make-up classes. We do make-up trials during the week ​ What distinguishes your work from other makeup artists? I think I’ve learnt a lot over 27 years, and I’m still learning! I use a variety of techniques that suit each face, NOT a one-size-fits all thing. I like to blend the colours well, I am also very particular on cosmetics and go for precise lines & flattering shapes. I like to create a flawless skin – thats really important. We like to have fun! ​ How would you describe your working style? I don’t like to rush and I like to create a relaxed & fun atmosphere. I am very gentle with my clients and don’t use scary application techniques – something I dreaded whilst at make-up college! I am always on-time and professional in my approach. If you are ill on my wedding day who will your replacement be? In this unlikely event (I have turned up for every wedding so far in 27 years!) I know several very experienced make-up artists who can step-in. If I have a sniffly cold I wear a face mask. . lol.

Terms & Conditions Victoria is happy to discuss any of the following conditions with you. TERMS & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE: PLEASE READ TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE CAREFULLY. 1. AGREEMENT Payment of the booking fee is acknowledgement & acceptance of these terms by the client. 2. BOOKINGS & CONFIRMATION Bookings are taken on a first come, first serve basis. We cannot hold your booking open without confirmation and payment of the booking deposit, non-payment may result in losing the date to another party. 2.1 For weddings and school balls & all other special events a booking deposit is required to hold your booking and is deducted from the total. The balance is payable by bank transfer two weeks before the event date. 2.2 For commercial bookings, (i.e. corporate makeovers) email confirmation is acceptable and full payment required within 7 days. 3. PAYMENT TERMS 3.1 For non-commercial bookings i.e. weddings, a non-refundable booking fee is to be paid to secure your date. The balance of payment must be paid two weeks prior to your wedding. 3.2 Fees quoted do not include unknown additional costs or any other unique or special requirements that are not made known to us at the time of the original quote -i.e. parking expenses, false eyelashes etc. 3.3 Payments can be made by bank deposit. Credit card facilities are not available – however you can pay with your credit card using your online banking. You may pay off your balance on a monthly basis if you prefer. 3.4 Prices quoted are valid for 14 days from the quotation date and are subject to changeafter this time has elapsed. 4. CANCELLATION POLICY 4.1 The booking deposit is non-refundable & non-transferable for any reason if a booking is cancelled. Weddings: If you cancel your booking because you, or a member of your party has COVID-19, you will not be eligible for a refund of your deposit. 4.2 In the unlikely event that we cancel your booking for unforeseen or unavoidable reasons, all monies paid (other than the trial fee) shall be refunded to you. 5. CHANGES TO NUMBER OF FACES 5.1 If there is a reduction of people requiring our services 4 weeks or less before your event, you will still be charged for those people. It is best to find replacements. 6. GENERAL DISCLOSURES, HEALTH CONDITIONS *Please see further guidelines at foot of page 6.1 You acknowledge that services provided involve the application of skin products directly to the relevant parts of the face & body. Therefore you are obliged to disclose any medical or other conditions known to you which a reasonable person would disclose, including but not limited to Viruses such as COVID19, SARS, Herpes, Hepatitis & other such viruses/conditions/diseases. In doing so, you agree that we are not liable for & will indemnify us from any & all claims, liabilities, costs, loss, & causes of action relating to personal injury or death arising directly or indirectly as a result of your failure to disclose pertinent information relating to medical or other conditions. 6.1 Victoria Edwards reserves the right to refuse to work with someone who presents with a contageous disease or virus (Covid, SARS.etc) or transmitable infection or condition such as those named above. 6.2 Victoria Edwards can refuse to use your own makeup products or tools. 7. SURCHARGES A surcharge of $50 applies for early starts of 7am or before 8. SUPPLIER RECOMMENDATIONS Referrals are based entirely on experience, attitude, talent & skills of suppliers we recommend. Services of 3rd party suppliers are entirely their responsibility & we accept no liability. 9. UNABLE TO ATTEND If we are unable to service your booking, all attempts will be made to send an alternative makep artist / hairstylist to you, who will be fully briefed on your look & the products required. If we are unable to find an artist to fulfil your booking, 100% of services paid will be refunded, (not including your trial fee). 10. PHOTOGRAPHS/ IMAGES 10.1 All photographs taken by us are the property of Victoria Edwards of Moving Makeup & may be used for marketing purposes on social media or in print. Any objections to this must be made known to Victoria. We always seek your permission for use of images for clients who are under 18. 10.2 In the event you have hired a professional photographer, you kindly agree to credit Victoria where appropriate.
